Abstract

The “Eloquent Simile” is a type of simile that has a profound impact on the audience. It is an effective rhetorical style that captivates both the ears and the hearts. In this form of expression, the speaker equates the "likened" with the "likened to," even though, in reality, the "likened to" is stronger than the "likened." However, in this simile, the "likened to" is made equal to the "likened" with the claim that they are indeed the same, which is clearly a significant exaggeration and a highly impactful style. This type of simile has been extensively used in the Qur'an, Hadith, and the speech of the Arabs, and its influence and eloquence cannot be denied. Anyone with even a basic understanding of Arabic can sense the charm of this rhetorical style.
