This study explores the use of onomatopoeia in the poetry of Nazeer Akbarabadi, a renowned Urdu poet known for his vivid depictions of everyday life and nature. Onomatopoeia, the representation of natural sounds through language, plays a crucial role in enriching poetic expression by evoking sensory imagery and enhancing emotional impact. By analyzing Nazeer’s innovative use of sound symbolism, the paper highlights its historical and literary significance, comparing his techniques with those of classical poets such as Mir Taqi Mir and Wali Daccani. The findings underscore Nazeer’s originality and his ability to connect deeply with his audience, solidifying his distinctive place in Urdu literature.
