Abstract

Ashfaq Ahmad is considered as an outstanding Urdu dramatist and prose writer of 20th century but poetic aspect of his literary life is least known. He has written some poems and ghazals which are not published. In ghazals he had used classical similes, metaphors and illustrations. He followed classical tradition in ghazals.  In the poems, there is a variety of topics like indifference of society, rights of women, famine in Bengal etc. Although his poetry is not considered on a par with his prose yet the element of creativity is easily traced in it.

(۲)        ”مہ“کی بجائے” ماہ “ لکھنے سے شعر بے وزن ہو گیا ہے

(۳)        ”نہ “کا استعمال خلافِ قاعدہ ہے۔

(۴)        ”مہتاب“کی بجائے ”ماہتاب“لکھنے سے شعر بے وزن ہو گیاہے۔

(۵)        ”اثر “کے لفظ کو غلط باندھا گیا ہے۔

(۶)        ”لپکتا“ غلط باندھنے پر مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۷)        ”اجل“ غلط باندھنے پر مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۸)        ”کرم“ غلط باندھنے پر مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۹)        ”تنِ تنہا“ کو غلط باندھنے پر مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۱۰)       مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۱۱)        ”دہر“غلط باندھا گیا ہے۔

(۱۲)       ”ختم “غلط باندھا گیا ہے۔

(۱۳)       متعدد مصرعے خام اور بے وزن ہیں۔

(۱۴)       مصرع بے وزن ہے۔

(۱۵)       نظم ”من چلے کا سودا“مشمولہ ادبِ لطیف(ماہنامہ)لاہور۔مئی ۲۰۰۵ء(اشفاق نمبر) ص۶۲۳

 نظم ”من چلے کا سودا“ کے کچھ بنداشفاق احمد کے ٹیلی ڈرامی ”من چلے کا سودا“(اشاعت: لاہور۔سنگِ میل پبلی کیشنز،۲۰۰۵ء)میں بھی شامل ہوئے۔
