Abstract

Religious texts of Saraiki are the preliminary samples of dictionary writing in Saraiki. Besides orientalists like Edward O'Brien, Andrew Jukes, James Wilson, the local language experts Akhtar Waheed Ansari, Jamshed Kamtar Rasoolpuri, Dilshad Kalanchvi, Fida-e-Athar, Aslam Qureshi, Bashir Ahmad Zami, Maulana Aziz ur Rehman Aziz, Maulana Noor Ahmad Fareedi, Dr. Mahar Abdul Haq, Qais Fareedi, Shaukat Mughal, Saadullah Khetran etc. contributed a lot in the development of Saraiki dictionary. Though remarkable work on Saraiki lexicography has been done yet a lot more attention is required to produce Saraiki dictionary in light of international standard of lexicography.
