This paper presents a comparative study of two important characters of Urdu's two significant novels. They are Amra-o-Jan e Ada by Mirza Hadi Ruswa and 'Kai Chand Thy Zer e Asman by Shams al-Rehman Faruqi. Both these characters are representatives of beauty and lust and both are about tyranny and exploitation meted out to women. The article is a comparative study of differences, commonalities and contradictions  found in both characters.
