Abstract

Sohrab Sepehri was an extraordinary artist and literary figure of Iran in 20th century. He is rightly taken as one of the most famous modern style Persian poets who also shined in the western world through translations of his poems in many European languages. Sepehri's poetry offers different look and yet very simple, which distinguishes him from other modern Persian poets. He believes in faith, dignity and truthfulness. Being a prominent painter, he has used so many colors e.g. green, white, black, blue, Persian blue, red, pink, yellow and brown etc in his poetry, which has been analyzed and evaluated in the article. This article reveals some undiscovered dimensions of Sepehri's wonderful poetic skills.
