Abstract

Sufi AQ Niaz rendered Mirza Asadullah Ghalib's select verse into English under the name of Whispers from Ghalib. It was published by Feroz Sons, Lahore in 1960. It comprises one hundred and fifteen verses from Ghalib's Urdu poetry. These verses are randomly picked from Divan-e-Ghalibputting no serious effort in this regard. This article is a critical analysis of Niaz's English rendition of Ghalib's Urdu verse.
