Abstract

Qazi Maḥmūd Baḥri was a Sufi poet and prominent author of the Indo-Pak subcontinent. His knowledge of Arabic, Persian and Dakkani languages enabled him to employ exotic puns and stunning literary tricks. His collective works have been published many times. His ‘Arūs-i ‘Irfān is an important Persian text on Sufi thoughts and teachings. It is written in a very good style. Its language is simple but has scholarly taste. The contents of the book are very rich. It includes his views on divine love, pantheism, religious values and philosophy of human life, universe and death.
