Abstract

Literature of every era is reflective of particular time. So is the case of Urdu literature. Like other literary genres, Urdu novel is an index of contemporariness. The Urdu novel written in 21st century and especially after the 9/11 depicts the very situation of both local and international scenarios. A number of novels have been written in the backdrop of the terror attack on the twin tower of America. Consequently, the transpiration of international stage which played havoc with the already poor and backward nations has been a valid topic for novel writing across the globe including Urdu. This article focuses the contemporainess in modern Urdu novel.
