Abstract

In this article, a literary analysis of Ashfaq Ahmed's play "Shahlakot" was presented. Except Islam, no religion or society has given women their basic rights. It has always been considered to be contemptible, weak-minded and responsible for the ruin of men. It is known that when a Sufi and intellectual presents female characters in his dramas, he shows them according to the correct Islamic concept or shows local influences and traditionalism. But a feminist study of the drama Shahlakot reveals a specific concept of women. In the drama we are introduced to ideal landlords. But here, the entire village of Shahlakot has been destroyed due to the seduction of Nazia, the main female character. Ashfaq Ahmed has explained this disaster from a scientific and Christian point of view that if human beings are cloned like animals and crops, then such a person will be born who will be deprived of spiritual qualities and will feel guilty after committing a sin. It won't happen. From the Christian point of view, Mother Eve was created from the rib of Adam. That is why Ashfaq Ahmed calls woman a form of cloning. Therefore, we see that in Ashfaq Ahmed's conception of woman, she is a seditionist and a cause of destruction.
