Abstract
The partition of the sub-continent is the most important and the biggest event in our history. There emerged two, and later, three independent countries namely Bharat and Pakistan in 1947 and Bangladesh in 1971. The repercussions of this division were felt in shape of migration, loss of life, wealth and honour of thousands of people. Even today, its effects are being felt and described both in prose and verse. Among others, renowned Urdu novelist Quratul Ain Haider has woven her writing especially novels around the tragedy of partition.
