Abstract

After the industrial age, the novel has overtaken all other genres. No other literary genre could explore the spiritual and existential problems of the modern man in the way the novel did. Early novel was written following the traditional technique of realism. The same life was portrayed in the novel that was seen outside. The reader did not have to face much difficulty in understanding the text. The novel globally underwent many experiments in 20th century at thematic and form levels. The Pakistani Urdu novel itself also accepted the impact of these changes. The article discusses such novels which left a deep impression on the mind of readers.
