Abstract

Sufis and saints usually employ a slightly different language for their spiritual experiences. This may be termed as technical language of the spiritual world. Such language carries the tinge of paradoxical expression and comprises all literary beauties i.e., simile, metaphor, allegory etc. It is why this expression is considered very important in literature. Ba Yazid Bustami was a great Sufi. Following common practice of Sufism, he had also used paradoxical expression in his rendition. This article is a study of paradoxical aspect of Ba Yazid’s work.
