Abstract
Since the age of settlement, potters hold important role in every ancient society of the world because, among all the functional ware, clay pottery is the earliest and the most requisite creation of man for processing food. The sumptuary terracotta pottery of Gujrat created by the common man for the commoners expressing his aesthetic and artistic sense mingled with warmth of folk ethos still excites admiration. Through this study the evolution of terracotta pottery of Gujrat is viewed in historical and cultural milieu.
