Abstract

Munshi Prem Chand is a renowned short story writer of Urdu and Hindi. His writings laid strong foundations in both Urdu and Hindi. Poverty, feudal system, realism, colonialism and many such social issues are centered in his stories. This article analyses some of his short stories to establish if they are translated or transliterated and whether he had contributed and portrayed more beautifully in Hindi or Urdu language.
