Islamic Identity is comprised of unity of faith, unity of history and unity of language. But faith is of central importance among rest of the elements. Arabic language, for a Muslim, is an Islamic Identity. Relation of Pakistani people with Arabic language is based on the belief that it is the language of the Qura’n, their religion, culture, literatures, unity and faith. Arabic language has played significant role in highlighting Islamic Identity in Pakistan. This article deals with Arabic language with special reference to promoting Islamic Identity in Pakistan.
