Abstract

In the intellectual world of Iqbal, there is a special interest in the problems of economy. At the theoretical level, by finding out the economic thoughts of Iqbal or discussing them, when Iqbal's effort "Ilm-ul-iqtisad" is mentioned, a very pleasurable expression is given. It is believed that his first work shows how much Iqbal was interested in economic matters that the first subject he wrote was related to economics. Iqbal's third effort, recorded in the records of the Oriental College was published in 1903 under the title "Ilm-ul-iqtisad" on political economy. In the Iqbalistic research, there is no significant attempt to trace this matter so that it can be known that where are the abridged translations of the two books mentioned in the Oriental College report. In the light of a document, the researchers have acknowledged the fact that Iqbal translated and summarized Walker's book "Political Economy", but neither was it possible to gain any knowledge about this author, nor his There was no comprehensive serious effort to find the authorship. In this article, an attempt has been made to resolve the issue whether "Ilm-ul-iqtisad" is the authorship of Iqbal or a translation and abridgement.
