Abstract
Wasokht is a typical genre of Urdu poetry. Like many other sub-genres within Urdu poetry, this genre is also Persian in its origin. According to a research, Mir Taqi Mir is the first poet of Wasokht in Urdu. The characteristic feature of Wasokht is the resistance and mutiny of the lover against the behavior of the beloved. This genre developed in Lakhanvi environment. So for as its structure is concerned this genre reflects in Musaddus , Musamman and Mukhammus. The present study is an attempt to highlight the Wasokht's Lakhnvi style.
