Abstract
Iqbal reconstructed the religious and political thought in Islam by his Qur'anic poetry and criticized the false imagination to the extent of exaggerated extreme. The article strives to establish that though Iqbal was influenced by religious and political notion of his successors as well as the Western metaphysicians, he held a position entirely distinct from all of them. His contribution to the treasure house of Qur'anic poetry is therefore, unique and substantial.
