Abstract

Mabarrid is one of those who have left indelible prints on the Arabic language and literature. Though he penned on almost all aspects of Arabic language, yet his services in fields of rhetoric, syntax and morphology are of central importance. This articles sheds light on his views on rhetoric. Al-Kamil and al-Muqtadhib are his two famous books in which he expressed his views on rhetoric and morphology and later on his views became the basis of research on rhetoric. Perhaps he is the first person who terms his treatise on the topic as Balaghat (Rhetoric). Sub branches of Arabic Rhetoric has been discussed in Al-Kamil. He has also expressed his critical views in this book which provided the base for further study in this field.
