Abstract
Patna School has played a significant role in the tradition of textual editing in Urdu language. This school is also known as the Bihaar School of textual editing. Its major contributors are Qazi Abdul Wadood, Kaleem ud Deen Ahmed and HameedAzeem Abadi who edited many famous texts. These include texts like Diwan-e-Joshish, Diwan-e-Jahan and Kuliyaat-e-Shaad. Linguistic characteristics have also been described in introduction of these edited texts. The paper presents an overview of the Patna School of textual editing side by side its salient characteristics.
