Abstract

Stone bearing sacred names Pak Namuon Wala Pathar is very beautiful and interesting short story written by Nayyer Masood, a unique Urdu writer. The article presents analysis of the story based on a symbol Pak Namuon Wala Pathar. The stone is a family sign of the basic character. The sign symbolizes the human urge of eternity. Here the family becomes human society, thus the meaning flows from individual to collective human self. The article also analyzes the language which creates mystery of the story.
