Abstract
The present study discusses the autobiographical nature of Siddique Salik's Urdu novel Pressure Cooker. The biographical novel is a written account of author's or another person's life. Pressure Cooker has been treated as a figment of fiction. The central character of the novel is inspired by the life of the famous painter Ghulam Rasool of Islamabad. Additionally, there are shades of Salik's own life in the novel. Neither Siddique Salik nor any of his critics has pointed out this reality in written form so far. Both persons are critically compared and evaluated in this article.
