Hifiz Shirazi is a renowned Persian poet who is not only popular in Iran but across the world. His poetry has been influencing the literati of the Sub-continent on large scale. A good number of poets of the Sub-continent had benefitted from his poetry and composed their verses following his foot prints in poetry. Poets living in 12th and 13th century used to refer to Hafiz's poetry to authenticate their literary criticism. This article is a study of works on Hafiz and the books on criticism based upon Hafiz's verse by the scholars of the Sub-continent.
