Abstract

Mirza Faseehi was a famous poet of Khorasan in the eleventh century A.H. he was born in Bukhara. Faseehi was one of the prominent poets of Qasida and Ghazl of his time. He received the title of the Poet Laureate by the court of King Abbas. Besides poetry he had interest in other fields of fine arts. He showed special inclination to calligraphy and earned a good name by excelling in it. But his main claim to fame remained poetry. His divan consists of more than four thousand verses. He had mathnavis to his credit as well. His poetry is sublime and simple. This article covers life and work of Mirza Faseehi in a befitting way.
