Abstract

Qura Tul Ain holds a unique place in Urdu literature. Her personality and creativity display a wide range of diversity and multidimensionality. She produced four collections of short stories, five novellas and seven novels. Besides this, she tried her creative genius in myriad other genres to establish herself as a genuine writer. Her writings are representative of the spirit of our times as well as our civilization. The tragedy of the disintegration is as palpable in her writing as the search for identity and roots. She has penned the history and civilization in such a way that a holistic picture of our cultural history comes to forth. She laments the loss of our shared heritage throughout her writings.
