Abstract

The moment the holy Prophet (PBUH) began preaching the teachings of Islam, people of Makka became arch enemy of Islam. The Makkans could not bear the sight of anyone who challenged their life style. This life style though based on injustice and suppression yet it was very dear to them. Since the message of Islam is purely based on justice and emancipation, they showed full enmity towards the followers of Islam. Although the Muslims never faced such enmity in Madina owing to certain reasons, yet they had to face difficulties at the hands of hypocrites and Jewish community of Madina. This article presents a comparative study of enmity towards Islam shown by Makkans and Madinites.
