Farhang e Anees by Naib Husain Naqvi is the glossary of poetical texts of an important poet of Urdu, Meer Anees. This book was compiled by collecting all important words, idioms, compounds, phrases and sometimes ornamental words. Naqvi wrote maximum meanings of the word or term and brief explanations according to the usage in text. The preface of the book is very comprehensive in which he wrote about the basic rules of literary glossary and commented on its importance.
