Abstract
Through the history of Urdu literature, woman poets have either been marginalized or they were like unheard voices of a male dominant society. In the back drop of a typical mindset, they were never too free to create an idiom of their own to express their thoughts and sentiments in any genre of poetry. But for the last few decades, a categorical shift can be seen in this regard, and now Pakistani women poets are defining their roles and voices themselves. This article is a study of the works of contemporary Pakistani women poets.
