Abstract
Shahnama e Firdousi represents Persian culture and history. The epic and myth, historical narration and the language give immortality to this fantastic piece of literature. The immortality of this creative work is evident from the modern thoughts and concepts being reflected in it. It also contains elements of modern day literary theory of Existentialism. The feeling of self existence, battle between good and evil sides of soul and reluctance against negativity of insight are expressed in Shahnama. This proves its relevancy to the present times.
