Monthly Hilal is an informative literary and research magazine published by Pakistan Armed Forces for last seventy years. In the early days, it was named as Mujahid but later on its title was changed to Hilal in 1951. This journal was started as a daily, then weekly and now is being published on monthly basis. It carries articles in both Urdu and English. Poetic and prose writings are encouraged from writers belonging to civil and defense forces alike. The role of the national songs is indispensible and that's why the national song is the regular feature of this magazine. The article focuses the national songs published in 'Hilal'.
