Dr. Khalil Tokar is an Urdu scholar, teacher and researcher from Turkey. He has developed special taste for Urdu language and literature. He has obtained doctoral degree in Urdu. He is a poet, writer, translator, travelogue writer and a columnist. Currently, he is serving as Chairman Department of Urdu, Istanbul University, Turkey. He is the first director of the Yunas Emre Culture Centre established in Lahore. Many books are on his credit. This is an introductory article meant to cover Dr. Khalil's literary services and efforts in promoting Urdu language.
