Abstract

Feminist movement had its impact on literature besides social, economic, political and psychologcal sciences. Several contradictory theories came forword in the western literature with reference to this movement. The female Urdu Pakistani poets have also got impacted by feminist theories. They have written within the context of these theories and discussed the economic, social and cultural changes taking place at local and international level. After the creation of Pakistan, feminist self conciousness appeared as a dominant trend in the poetry of almost all the female Urdu poets. The study of changing feminist consciousness in female Urdu poets of Pakistan has been helpful in understanding the artistic, intellectual and stylistic changes taking place in Urdu nazm/poetry.
