Begum Akhtar Riazuddin is the first woman travelogue writer in Urdu. Saat Samandar paar and Dhanak par Qadam are her memorable travelogues which have won her popularity in the literary circles of Urdu. She looks at the world with the eye of a genius tourist. It’s why her travelogues carry vast information and serious analysis. She has described the beautiful scenes of nature of different places in a befitting way.  Instead of taking a static view of a scene, she looks at it from a creative angle. She doesn’t hesitate to describe the reality whatsoever it is. Despite being an eastern woman, her thoughts are similar to those of men and she has adopted a romantic and fictional style to express events, observations, experiences and thoughts.
