Asif Humayun is one of the important poets of the present era. His poetry carries a deep intellectual depth within it but his credible reference is prose poem. In his view, compared to the ghazal, nazm holds much wider possibilities. His prose poems beautifully reflect not only an individual,s inner turmoil, but also the cultural, social, political and intellectual condition of his era. His poems play the role of a ray of hope amidst despair.
