Dr. Ghulam Hussain Zulfiqar was a distinguished scholar and educationist associated with the Oriental College, Punjab University, Lahore, where he rendered distinguished services in the promotion of Urdu language, literary research and academic leadership. His work encompassed historical documentation, linguistic studies, and institutional development. During his tenure at the university, he authored the History of the University of the Oriental College, a foundational work preserving the historical documents of the Oriental College. Another major work for the university was the compilation of the Centenary History of the University of the Punjab. This work further preserved the history of the institution. As a teacher, Dr. Zulfiqar always emphasized the cultural and literary value of Urdu. This article presents an analytical study of his two books on the history of the University of the Punjab.
