Journalism is the back bone for any society. It is the main source of awareness among mass. Journalism began in Kashmir in Kashmiri language in the middle of the 20th century with the publication of the Kashmiri newspaper "Gaash". Kashmiri journal Gassh, Kong Pash, Gulrez played a vital role for the promotion of their native language. First Kashmiri short story, drama, novel and essay written by the Kashmiri writers get published in these Kashmiri journals and newspapers.
