Abstract

Syed Zameer Jafri’s fame is primarily because of his Urdu poetry, in fact, humorous poetry. However, he is also a good prose writer, and many of his works achieved fame. These publications comprise a novelette, columns, travelogures, sketch writing, and diaries. His sketches are of outstanding literary value, which have veraeity, audacity and a realistic sketching. His novelette talks about the dual natures of human characters and the artificialities of behavious and actions. He has written columns of international journalistic standards. The central part of his prosaic legacy is his personality diaries, which are expanded to a period of 50 years. These diaries comprise his recollections, social and political matters of his time, and Zameer’s relationships with his contemporaries; a diverse range of topics. In this article, Zameer Jafri’s prose works and the relevant points about his content and writing skills are discussed.
