Mirza Ghalib is considered one of the greatest poets of Urdu ghazal tradition. He qualified himself as poet par excellence. He opened newer dimensions in Urdu letter writing. In fact, Ghalib was so enamored by this genre that imprints of his letter writing can easily be traced in his verse. The article presents an analytical study of Mirza Ghalib’s letters and his fascination with the art of letter writing.
