Abstract
The Indigenous Cultural Movement was a literary movement initiated by Dr Wazir Agha after the War of September 1965 between Pakistan and India. The theory reflects his deep love for the native culture and land. The patriotism of the nation was at its peak in those days and a glimpse of national sentiments and emotions can be seen in Urdu literature especially in poetry composed in that particular period. Writers both pro and against the movment wrote on it. ‘Inshaia,’ a comparatively new form of Urdu prose, gained wider ecceptance in that era. The Indigenous Cultural Movement has contributed in exploring and raising patriotic thoughts and ideas in Urdu literature. The article focuses Wazir Agha’s said literary movement.
