Abstract
Mathnavi Yousuf Kashmiri is a verse composition of a Kashmiri Persian poet. The poet has not only praised and depicted the unique trees found only in the Kashmir valley in his composition in a matchless style but has also condemned the ruthless cutting down of the beautiful and unique trees by human beings. The Masnavi comprises seventy two verses. Its manuscript is available with the Central Library of the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Besides edited text of the Masnavi, the article presents the definition of difficult words and poetic terms used in the Masnavi by Yousuf Kashmiri.
