Abstract

Urdu criticism is a thing of later periods. And progressive or neo-progressive criticism is of more recent phenomenon in the history of literary criticism of Urdu. Qamar Raees is the renowned critic of the neo criticism in Urdu literature who earned wide spread reputation and stood high among neo-critics. Especially when it comes to criticism of fiction, his name and work can never be ignored instead acknowledgement of his services seems mandatory. Under the influence of neo progressive theory, he wisely presented a balanced point of view of neo- criticism of Urdu fiction. His view on fiction criticism gained due importance and attracted the attention of Urdu critics and readers alike.
