Mir Sayyid Ali Hamdani was the greatest Muslim Sufi. He rendered his services for the spread of peaceful message of Islam in the length and breadth of the valley of Kashmir. Hundreds of his fellow Sayyids accompanied him from Hamdan and other parts of Iran. Owing to the efforts of Mir Hamdani cultural relations and contacts established between the people of Kashmir and Central Asia. Sayyid Ali Hamdani encouraged skilled artisans, technicians and architects from abroad and fostered new arts in Kashmir. A number of people embraced Islam at his hand and thus he successfully gave a new shape to the religio - cultural milieu of Kashmir.
