Naguib Mahfouz is a great fiction writer of Arabic language. His fiction is very popular as it has been translated in all major languages of the world. Though he has written short stories, novels and some translation works yet his main claim to fame is novel writing and that too of historical nature. He has successfully revisited the Pharaoh period of Egyptian history through his novels. Naguib has done justice with all the characters he has employed in his fiction.
