Abstract

Literature and ethics are two different realms of knowledge but their harmonious relationship and synchronism establish the enduring literary values. Amplification or debasing of one at the cost of other diminishes the role and significance of both. The coerce expression of ethical values transforms it into a piece of propaganda and makes the literature jugglery of words divesting it from social, religious and contemporary imperatives. Hence there is a great need that equilibrium and evenness be maintained between the aesthetic and ethical considerations so that artistic and cultivated incorporation of ethical values may enrich the significance and meaningfulness of literature.
