Abstract

The tradition of Tazkra in Urdu came from Persian language. They have been a great source of information about poets, authors and their literary contributions. It is why they enjoy a special importance especially with reference to history of evolution of Urdu prose and poetry. Though Tazkars are of such importance in Urdu yet they were least bothered for serious research. This article presents a study of Urdu Tazkra and research works on Tazkra writing.
