It is interesting to note that almost all big names of Urdu poetry served in the forces in one or the other in the past. The story of literary contributions of forces did not end with the emergence of Pakistan. There arose great poets from armed forces of Pakistan who not only proved their mettle by discharging their duties as the defenders of the boundary of motherland but also demonstrated their poetic excellence by contributing to Urdu poetry. This article is an introductory review of the Urdu poets who have been associated with armed forces of Pakistan or still in service.
