Abstract
Jabir Ali Syed was a renowned Urdu critic but he was least known as a poet. Though a critic is not recognized as a good poet yet he was an exception. He was as good a poet as was a critic. He published a verse collection by the name of MAUJ-E-AHANG. Many of his verse have yet to be published. This article presents a study of him as a poet. An analysis of his published and unpublished works has been made and his principles of criticism and standards have also been employed. Specimens from his verse have also been given to highlight his ideas on criticism.
