Faiz Ahmad Faiz stands unique among modern poets of Urdu. Stylish qualities of Faiz made him prominent among his contemporaries. His symbolic and metaphorical system is very robust and strong. Faiz avoided the traditional style of diction and symbolism. He gave new meanings to the traditional diction. The sound and sweetness of ghazal is very much present in the blank verse of Faiz. This article reveals the slow and soft tone of versification which is a unique quality of Faiz. The soft tone of Faiz attracts his friend and opponents alike.
