Mustafa Zaidi is one of the most acknowledged poets of Urdu of the twentieth century. He was equally well versed in composing Nazm and Ghazal but gained more prominence owing to the former. One of the major characteristic of his poems/ nazm is the skilful use of words. The words do not only convey a sense of appropriateness and imagery but also give a new meaning metaphorically and symbolically. The present article highlights this quality of Zaidi' poetry.
